FOREWORD
2020 is destined to be an extraordinary year in human history.
In 2020, an epidemic in China broke out, and the world became aware of Wuhan.
2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy.
On March 26, 2019, President Xi visited Italy, the first "Belt and Road" signatory country: "Friendship is not an accidental choice, but the result of like-minded people." From the "Silk Road" to the "Belt and Road", the friendship between China and Italy continues a new chapter.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, the first "Sino-Italian Cultural Festival" series of cloud exhibitions was jointly launched by the Italian Belt and Road Research Institute (ISTITUTO ITALIANO OBOR) and Wuhan Chushang Art Institute, China, and jointly launched by artists from the two places: "Pray for the world" -Sino-Italian Artists Association Exhibition [First Series]. The series will successively launch the works of artists in the form of cloud exhibitions, starting from the heroic city of Wuhan under the epidemic, and relying on the works as a bridge of friendship, and renewing the silk road love between China and Italy.
Christian Leperino
Naples, Italy, 1979 A painter and sculptor, Christian Leperino (Naples, Italy, 1979) intertwines the theme of the urban landscape with reflections on time, the transformation of places, and the destinies of the individuals who inhabit them in his research. His most recent sculptures alternate models with plaster cast, exploring the medium as a trace of a living body, an object, a fragment of art from the past. His sculptures are featured in many prominent museum collections and public spaces, including: MADRE Museum Naples, MMOMA-Moscow, Museum of Modern Art in Moscow, Tokyo IICT; the Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art of Suzzara, and the Mergellina Railway Station, Naples; Castello Aragonese, Cattedrale dell’Assunta, Ischia.
Working with artists of the future, Leperino teaches sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti (Academy of Fine Arts) in Naples and Frosinone.
In 2015, Leperino founded SMMAVE, an avant-garde centre for contemporary art based in the Santa Maria della Misericordia ai Vergini (16th-18th century) church in Naples, which had long been abandoned due to neglect and degradation. He serves as President of the organisation and, thanks to volunteer recovery and restoration work, this ancient building of worship has now transformed into a centre dedicated to the visual arts and historical-artistic disciplines with transversal links to music and theatre.

Antonio De Marini
